On Thursday, November 12, 2009, at 2:00 p.m. EST, Lloyd Society founder Dr. Catherine Gallagher will join Seema Gajwani of the Public Welfare Foundation in Improving Outcomes for Youth Involved in the Juvenile Justice System, part of the GIH Maternal and Child Health Audioconference Series. Lloyd Society founder Dr. Catherine A. Gallagher addressed the Intersection of Juvenile Justice and Poverty symposium to be held at Georgetown University Law Center on Thursday, March 26. Dr. Gallagher's presentation was titled “The Impact of Health Care for the Juvenile Justice Population.” This event was presented by Georgetown Journal on Poverty Law and Policy, American Constitution Society for Law and Policy, Center for Juvenile Justice Reform, Georgetown University, and Georgetown Law Center Juvenile Justice Clinic. In 2007, Anne Douds was appointed to the Juvenile Justice Work Group of the federal Interagency Coordinating Council on Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. In May 2007 she appeared as the speaker at the annual ICCFAS meeting, held at the National Institutes of Health in Rockville, MD, where she presented a paper: Fetal Alcohol in the Justice System: A Quantitative Analysis of Case Law.

In March, Anne presented two papers at the National Immunization Conference in Kansas City, Missouri: (1) Immunization Obstacles at the Local Level: How Juvenile Residential Facilities Perceive the Problems and (2) What Role Do Public Health Agencies Play in Juvenile Justice Immunization Practices.

On April 5, 2007 Adam Dobrin gave testimony to the Florida State House of Representatives Policy and Budget Council, concerning HB 531, “An Act Relating to Online Dating Services.”  He joined other industry and security experts in evaluating the efficacy of this bill.


Catherine A. Gallagher gave a plenary talk at the National Immunization Conference on "Vaccination and Marginalized Adolescents: Adolescent Vaccination in Juvenile Detention Centers" on March 6, 2007 in Kansas City. She and fellow panelists Abigail English, JD, President-elect, the Society for Adolescent Medicine and President, The Center for Childrens' Health and the Law; Peter Szilagyi, MD, MPH, Professor of Pediatrics, Chief, General Pediatrics, University of Rochester Medical Center; and Capt. Abigail Shefer, MD, CDC tackled the issue of "The Where and How of Reaching Adolescents."
